GÜTERMARKT

Bi-Monthly market connecting the neighbourhood and providing a platform for local goods and handcrafted items
Bi-monthly event
Every second month, the ZK/U grounds transform into a vibrant meeting point for the neighborhood. The Gütermarkt is much more than a traditional flea market – it brings together second-hand goods, local crafts, repair stations for bicycles, electrical devices, and woodworking, as well as services such as tailoring and hairdressing. It is a place where sustainability, creativity, and community come together.
What started as an experiment has now become an institution. The Gütermarkt emerged from a research project called Moabiter Mix, which explored social diversity in Berlin’s Moabit district. Due to gentrification, public spaces were at risk of losing their diversity, and neighborhoods were becoming increasingly segregated. To counteract this, a community market was created in collaboration with citytoolbox.
