Michel de Broin


Michel de Broin’s work ranges from assemblage to video and photography. A mid-career survey of his work was mounted by the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal, and he has had solo exhibitions and projects at the Musée d’art contemporain Val-de-Marne in France, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art in Winnipeg, and Villa Merkel in Esslingen, Germany. His work has also been included in numerous group exhibitions, and his public artworks and commissions can be found in Berlin, Mississauga, Changwong, New Orleans, Montréal, Paris, Toronto, and New York.  Recipient of the 2007 Sobey Art Award, De Broin has also received grants from the Harpo Foundation in Los Angeles and Krasner-Pollock Foundation in New York, and was rewarded a 2014 International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York.
