Jesse Gerard Mpango is a storyteller from Kasulu in Tanzania. He is currently working as a writer and curator in Dar-es-salaam. He is a founding member of Ajabu Ajabu, an audio visual house, multimedia space and curatorial collective. The aim is to examine de-centralized, unrestricted and community based distribution systems as an essential means of preservation and restitution for indigenous stories in the global sphere. He has also curated several exhibitions for Nafasi Art Space, a contemporary art center in Dar, including Altered States (2020), Hakuna Kulala (2021), Saa Za Kazi (2021),  New Shapes (2021) and Essences (2022). His writing has appeared in ArtMonthly, Nairobi Contemporary  and The Black Explorer.
