INTERNSHIP IN THE PROJECT DEPARTMENT

ZK/U is looking for help in the project department. Apply now!

You would be involved in the following projects:

Fussballaballa: turning the popular format of public viewing of sports into an educational and community building event
you would:
- help to produce the set for Fussballaballa
- help to host people (we’re expecting guests from Russian organizations)
- working together on developing formats (film, video, sound)
- helping to cover the workload

Zeducation: learning platform for critical urban issues
you would:
- Research on learning systems / education alternative system and technologies in education
- help to set up the webpage for Zeducation

And other ongoing projects like:
Ständige Vertretung
- Administration and hosting of people
VIP Box
- helping to host youths and communicating with the artists
ZKU Extension:
Research and communication concerning the extension of the ZKU building

You will get:
- insight into project-coordination and content development
- insight into the structure of a young, evolving and dynamic institution
- meeting a lot of people, being part of great team

When and how long?
ASAP - Ideally already in May!
(It would be great if you could stay until the end of September)

Your skills:
- Fluent in English or German
- Communicative
- Not scared of working with project-management tools, technology and website (no need of specific knowledge, we can train you to a certain extend)
- Willingness to also work with your hands
- Open-mindedness

Praktikum im Bereich Kommunikation

Das Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik sucht eine/n Praktikantin/en im Bereich Kommunikation.

Ein Praktikum im ZK/U eröffnet Einblicke in die Arbeit eines Vereins, der gleichzeitig die Trägerschaft für ein „Artist – in - Residence“ Programm mit 14 Wohnungen/Ateliers übernimmt, sowie in die Organisation und das Marketing von interdisziplinären Events.

Das Praktikum bietet die Möglichkeit, vertiefte Einblicke in die Arbeitsweise unseres Kommunikationsbüros zu gewinnen. Darunter fallen folgende Aufgabenbereiche:

  • Recherchetätigkeiten, Verfassen und Bearbeiten von Pressetexten und Pressematerialien (wie z.B. der Pressemappen, Pressemeldungen und Pressefotos)
  • selbständige Medienbeobachtung (Online, Print und Hörfunk) sowie die Pressedokumentation und das Erstellen des täglichen Pressespiegels sowie die Pflege des Presse-Archives
  • selbstständige Betreuung von Social Media-Kanälen 
  • Assistenz bei der Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Pressekonferenzen
  • Bearbeitung allgemeiner Presse-Anfragen und Bürotätigkeiten 
  • Pflege der hauseigenen Datenbank 
  • Zusammenarbeit mit einem internationalen Team aus den anderen Bereichen des ZK/U

Das bringst Du mit:

  • besonderes Interesse an Kunst, Kultur und Stadtentwicklung 
  • idealerweise erste Erfahrungen in der Berliner Medien- und Kulturlandschaft
  • Organisationstalent, freundliches und sicheres Auftreten und Einsatzbereitschaft
  • einen sicheren Umgang mit den gängigen MS Office-Standardanwendungen 
  • Indesign- und/oder Photoshop- und/oder Illustrator-Kenntnisse
  • sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
  • Teamfähigkeit und Kommunikationsfreude
  • eine sorgfältige, umsichtige und selbständige Arbeitsweise
  • ggf. ein Förderprogramm, um Dein Praktikum zu finanzieren (Erasmus+, Erasmus New Entrepreneur, Bafög etc.) 

Das Praktikum richtet sich an Auszubildende und Studierende, die ein Pflichtpraktikum oder ein ausbildungs-/ studienbegleitendes Praktikum absolvieren möchten.

Internship at the artist residency

Starting from September or October 2018.

 

The ZK/U opened its doors not a long time ago, this is the opportunity to get engaged in a wide range of activities right from the start. The interns will engage in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of an international not-for-profit organization and will gain experience while being introduced to a vast network of artists, scholars and practitioners. Due to ZK/U's small staff, interns play an important role in the administration of ZK/U’s overall program.

ZK/U internships potentially provide a foundation in a variety of skills, experience and contacts for a future career as a curator, artist, arts administrator, etc.

Core responsibilities of interns at ZK/U

- Planning and organisation of the ongoing “Artist in Residence” Program.
- Preparation, facilitation, and organization of events and projects
- Support in the area of marketing and event management
- Close work with an international team
- Fund-raising
- Organizational system design (database related)
- Assisting artists in residence

Requirements

- Fluency in English (other languages are always welcome)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills 
- Relevent field of study, or strong personal interest in the work of ZK/U
- Interest in art and social questions
- Independent and responsable worker, willing to take initiative, quick learner 
- Available four days a week for a minimum of four months and availability for occasional evening programming.
- Grant to fund your internship (Leonardo, Erasmus +, Erasmus Young Entrepeneur, etc.) or internship as part of study track (Germans studying abroad are especially encouraged to apply!)

Beneficial

- Good German skills
- Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Not afraid of working with your hands, if necessary
