Für das kommende OPENHAUS am 10.06.2021 lädt das ZK/U Berlin seine Künstler:innen des internationalen Residenzprogramms dazu ein, sich mit der zeitgenössischen Frage auseinander zu setzen: Wie können wir Gemeinsamkeit und Kollektivität trotz Distanz schaffen? Anlass ist der Umbau des ZK/U und seine neuen, damit einhergehenden Grenzen und Möglichkeiten, die auch nach der Zukunft von Kulturorten fragen. Nicht nur physische Barrieren – wie der Bauzaun vor Ort – sondern auch symbolische und gesellschaftliche Grenzen sind Kern der kritischen Auseinandersetzungen, die im öffentlichen Park rund um das ZK/U zugänglich und sichtbar gemacht werden. 

Austausch und Diskurs prägen das Format vom OPENHAUS, doch auch sie waren in der jüngsten Vergangenheit Grenzen ausgesetzt, die nun durch Interventionen, multi-media Installationen und alternativen Formen der Interaktion herausgefordert werden.  

Teil des OPENHAUS ist auch das Künstler:innenkollektiv PARKomplex. Dieses Projekt wird gefördert durch das Creative Europe Programm und Magic Carpets.

With the next OPENHAUS on 10 June 2021, ZK/U invites its residents to address the contemporary contradiction of creating collectivity in the distance, while dealing with imminent questions surrounding the reconstruction and future of cultural spaces. Using the public park around ZK/U, the artists-in-residence will challenge limitations caused by multiple barriers: physical barriers in the form of construction fences and social barriers prevailing today.

Exchange and discourse are central points of any OPENHAUS. However, these too are subject to current barriers. To counteract, alternative modes of interaction will be installed on site.

The young Berlin-Moabit artist collective PARKomplex will be a part of the OPENHAUS June. This project is made possible due to the funding by Magic Carpets and Creative Europe.

Von Juni bis Oktober 2021 findet als Teil des Projekts BauSchilderung das Klimakunstlabor 21 statt. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Arbeitsgruppe, die sich mit der Transformation des ZK/U befasst.

Im Rahmen des Reallabors wird sich gemeinsam und mit unterschiedlichen Sichtweisen mit den unmittelbaren Auswirkungen des Klimawandels auf das ZK/U und den Moabiter Stadtgarten auseinandergesetzt. In einem flexiblen Team aus Nachbar:innen, Künstler:innen und Wissenschaftler:innen werden die verschiedenen Herausforderungen des urbanen Klimawandels diskutiert. Mit dem Fokus auf reale Experimente werden nachhaltige Lösungsansätze durchdacht, konzipiert und schließlich Prototypen gebaut und damit experimentiert.

From June until October 2021, as part of the project Construction Explained, the Climate Art Lab 21 will take place. The working group, meeting for several occasions, is part of the transformation process of ZK/U.

The field test takes place in form of a series of discussions and experiments. Throughout the project, immediate effects of climate change on the ZK/U and the Moabiter Stadtgarten will be addressed and compared different perspectives. In a flexible team of neighbors, artists and scientists, various issues of urban climate change will be discussed. With a focus on real experiments, sustainable solutions will be elaborated, conceived. Finally, prototypes will be built and experimented with.
