Poetry for You - Martin Krafft

Martin Krafft ( United States )

In an effort to test the bounds of expected interactions between strangers, Martin Krafft read Rainer Marie Rilke’s poem, “Wenn etwas mir vom Fenster fällt,” 1000 times to strangers throughout the city of Berlin. This project was Krafft’s attempt to offer a creative, non-financial experience, a space for reflection, for connection, however fleeting. He read all over the city, with ZK/U being a central hub for his reading, spawning a web of poetic engagement across the city. The project enveloped a collaborative dance performance, a tree planting, a garden weeding, reciprocal poem readings, a poem writing, and many other creative, unexpected encounters.
