Lange Nacht des Buches
6th Lange Nacht des Buches in Moabit
17:00 - Author Matthias von Bornstädt initiates a reading based on his book "Labyrinth der Geheimnisse" ("Labyrinth of secrets").
Rather than a pure reading, an interactive reading-show awaits the public, when the "Labyrinth der Geheimnisse" opens its gates. Participative actions, costumes and exciting effects (beamer-show, boardgames, "reading with all senses", etc.) allow the kids to dive deep into the story - as if they were there themselves.
19:00 - Author Phillip Meinhold reads from his book "Oh Jugend, oh Westberlin" ("Oh Youth, oh Westberlin") - reports, columns, and satire about the old and the new Berlin
Meinhold remembers his childhood and teenage time in the 70's and 80's, the readings of the Quelle catalogue, of Catcher in the Rye, and above West-Berlin. He remembers Eberhard Diepgen and the Deutschlandhalle, visits to the Grüne Woche, and to the Gips Theater. He is sometimes nostalgic and melancholic, then poetic and angry again - but still never without humor.
The Lange Nacht des Buches is part of the festival Moabit liest!
