Erica Ferrari is a visual artist and researcher. PhD student at the Graduate Program of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU USP). Master’s in Visual Poetics from the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA USP). In recent years, Erica has produced objects and installations based on research on the relationship between sculpture, memory and social practice. Issues related to construction, destruction, display, exposure and reframing of historical sites make clear the intertwining of three-dimensional structures and the formation of identity in public space. The idea is to deal with these layers in order to reflect about the cultivated memory and the projection of other ones. The works are made with construction materials, such as cement, plaster, plywood, clay and iron; waste materials like rubble; and precious materials, like copper and metal letters.
