Max Utech

Max Utech is an architect and researcher working in Vienna and Paris with projects between urbanism, architecture and art. His focus lies on the inclusive and generous development of our urban habitat towards a transformative and cross-scale enabling environment. Beside his own practice, he currently teaches and researches at the Institute of Architectural Design at TU Wien and has been a guest critic for the AA London, ENSA Belleville Paris, ENSA Versailles and Politecnico di Milano, among others. In 2020 he was a laureate of the Schütte-Lihotzky Project Fellowship awarded by the Austrian Ministry of Culture, in 2022/23 Fellow of the European Architecture Platform LINA and resident at Cité internationale des arts Paris and ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics in Berlin. Together with Bernadette Krejs he is founder of Palace of Un/Learning - an artistic-activist project that is exploring, inventing, negotiating and sharing counter-hegemonic design strategies providing un/built structures for a most possible diverse (queer-feminist) urban society.
