During my time at ZK/U I want to further my research on how legislation shapes reality and ethos within an urban environment, comparing a different political system to urban planning to that of London. My initial research stemmed from 2
notions: What is it that I’m walking through as the public? How the idea of the public is constituted by land ownership claims that are entirely private. There are a number of issues surrounding the effects of pseudo public spaces on the everyday lives of the public, but one massive issue is representation within a governmental field and basic human rights. My main aim is to develop a body of field research, engaging with citizens' desire lines in public space and edges of urban spaces of the city, correlating political outcomes. I want to focus on re-articulation of space, focusing on local communities that are being affected the most by these legislations and how as a community we can develop tactics of reclamation.
