The workshop led by Rasha Qassyousef focuses on the art of "folding" as the act of placing something and enclosing it. As a relevant piece of Arabic traditional gastronomy, we learn about Dolmas and their folding gestures and components that create this delicious meal, as well as reflect on the connection with the film program the following day. We draw a parallel line between this culinary gesture and the cinematic practice, where films – like plants, boats or objects – carry stories, hidden meanings and messages across borders.
