A special reading from the internationally acclaimed graphic novel as part of Comic Invasion Berlin

03 MAY 2026 / 16:00–17:00

ZK/U BerlinSiemensstr. 27, 10551, Berlin, Germany

Based on extensive interviews with survivor Lee Ok-sun, the work tells the story of the so-called "comfort women" during the Japanese colonial period and the Second World War. Through powerful visual storytelling, the graphic novel connects personal memory with historical testimony, giving voice to experiences that long remained unheard.

Since early 2026, the Statue of Peace "Ari", previously installed in Berlin-Moabit, has been temporarily hosted at ZK/U following its removal from public space. Holding the reading in this setting creates a space for reflection on historical memory, testimony, and the continuing public dialogue surrounding the remembrance of the victims.

The reading takes place as part of the ZK/U Gütermarkt series at ZK/U – Center for Art and Urbanistics, in cooperation with Korea Verband e.V.

This event is kindly supported by LTI Korea (Literature Translation Institution Korea).
