Reading Ghosts is a reading group at ZK/U accompanying the project Ari in Transit at ZK/U. Ari, the peace statue, sits at the table as a participant. In five sessions, we read across history, migration, critical theory, and diasporic literature to ask: Who are the ghosts of German cultural memory?

Session 1 begins with how Korea and Germany have shaped each other's practices of historical reckoning, read alongside Walter Benjamin's argument that the past makes urgent claims on the present.
