PLANT STORIES #3: Feminist Perspectives on Plants & Resistance Struggles

Conversation with Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro and Bilge Emine Arslan, moderated by Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss
27 JULY / 7 PM
ZK/U BerlinSiemensstr. 27, 10551, Berlin, Germany
What role do land and plants play in struggles of resistance? How are practices like planting and farming, foraging and caring for, harvesting and making oils etc. connected to resistance struggles? How do plants and humans resist together? The artists Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro and Bilge Emine Arslan both examine in their work how practices with plants are rooted in experience and forms of knowledge formed through engaging with the land and their interconnections with feminist struggles.
In the space of a pop-up-exhibition of Bilge Emine Arslan’s work “Letter Based Dialogue” as part of her ongoing artistic research project “Land, Grapes, and Resistance”, and following a workshop by Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro on “Paraecologies for Weaving Conflict Strategies”, their conversation with curator and researcher Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss brings together various artistic approaches as well as experiences in different struggles and regions. We are looking for a third perspective to join the conversation, check updates on www.instagram.com/plant.stories_/.
