Open studios, performance, video, installation and resident talks

20 NOVEMBER 2025 / 19:00–23:00

ZK/U BerlinSiemensstr. 27, 10551, Berlin, Germany

OPENHAUS is an open-studio format that takes place every second month in ZK/U, inviting artists in residence and current project partners to open their studios to the public. It offers a unique opportunity to experience the diverse interests and creative processes of the artists, reflected in their own personal studios.

From hostile architectures to nature in the city, ZK/U residents pose questions of existence through diverse mediums and practices. Visitors are invited to glimpse at first experiments of new performance and installation works and participate in in-progress script reading sessions. The current residencies explore Vipassana practice, landscape assemblages and multispecies urbanism. Creative coding meets permacomputing and digital archiving. This OPENHAUS offers glimpses into these varied investigations, from conceptual frameworks to material experiments.

Rather than showcasing final results, OPENHAUS focuses on works-in-progress, allowing visitors to interact with the artists and learn about their artistic journey. This participatory and informal format invites the public to delve into the behind-the-scenes and engage with the artists on a more personal level. It is a chance for both the artists and the community to connect and share ideas.
