With the kick-off of the Parasite School, ZK/U hosts the opening event of On Parasiting, an international artistic project that unfolds over a longer period and investigates parasitic tactics as a methodology for resistant artistic practice. On Parasiting asks how artistic practice can operate within existing systems, institutions and power structures — not from the outside, but from a position of embeddedness, complicity and precise irritation. The figure of the parasite is understood not merely as a metaphor, but as a method for making dependencies, processes of appropriation and the fragile points of hegemonic structures visible.

The Parasite School marks the opening week of the project and takes place from 14 to 21 June 2026 at different locations across Berlin. Moving between symposium, tactical workshop and collective rehearsal space, it brings together artists, theorists and practitioners to develop and discuss strategies of infiltration, adaptation and irritation.

ZK/U hosts the kick-off of the Parasite School on 14 June. Further programme points will take place at Make-up e.V. and diffrakt – zentrum für theoretische peripherie.

Contributions by Pilvi Takala, Oliver Marchart, Anna Watkins Fisher, Tobias Ginsburg, Jana Costas, Jakob Margit Wirth, Post Brothers and others open up a space in which theory and practice intersect.
