Festival for Art and Urban Culture

08–10 MAY 2026

ZK/U BerlinSiemensstr. 27, 10551, Berlin, Germany

Under the theme ICONS, the mowe Festival for Art and Urban Culture invites you on a three-day journey of discovery through the art and cultural landscape of Moabit and Wedding.

Under the annual theme of ICONS, the mowe Festival for Art and Urban Culture invites you on a three-day journey of discovery through the art and cultural landscape of Moabit and Wedding. At around 50 venues across the festival area, urban practice meets queer and post-migrant perspectives in group and solo exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, experimental city walks and bike tours, concerts under the trees, performances on rooftops, as well as community actions and interventions in urban spaces, on shutters and in backyards – with contributions that reflect the cultural diversity of the city, its districts and their residents – brought to life by international artists as well as local participants. The focus is on the participants themselves: their diverse artistic perspectives, cultural backgrounds and experiences, which anchor the festival both internationally and locally.

Conception and realisation of the mowe – Festival for Art and Urban Culture (2025-27) is carried out by the Berlin collective POLIGONAL.

mowe – Festival for Art and Urban Culture is funded through the „Kultur und Bibliotheken im Stadtteil - KUBIST" funding program, made possible by Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE), as well as through funds by Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt.
