If under attack - how to react? // UA#03 #1
This question constitutes the frame for the investigation of the third edition of the ZKU/ Fact Finding Committee.

The UA#03 will dedicate three events to the topics “Shift to the right” (20.03.2019), “Spaces” (26.03.2019) and “Precarization/Self-exploitation” (16.04.2019) and explore in these practices of solidarity in the areas of arts, (club-)culture and activism.
The overall goal is to inspire, motivate and to critically examine practical examples of different actors and initiatives throughout Berlin and beyond, as well as to create space for exchange to support existing our support newly created resistance structures. Towards a sustainable
The first event of the series will deal with the “Shift to the right” and put the following questions in the middle:
Where is the arts and culture scene under attack currently? What effects does the shift to the right have on the production of culture / producers of culture? What forms of protest exist already and to what extent have they been successfully performed recently? Which networks of solidarity do already exist within the production of arts and culture and which do need some strengthening or to be build at all?

// Arts and Culture against Hate, Violence and Racism
The strengthening of the new right, which now has its parliamentary arm with the AfD in the majority of the state parliaments, as well as in the Bundestag, has already produced effects such as cuts in and a shift in discourse. Through which the emancipatory consensus in cultural production also got attacked and questioned massively.
These attacks are all too often led in combination and with the aid of neoliberally oriented rhetorics and in an increasingly open alliance with strongly right-wing radical and neo-fascist groups. Among the victims are a rising number of progressive cultural institutions, alternative youth centres, open women's shelters and other solidarity structures.
The normalization of violence and hatred towards the so-called “others" in society not only generates an increasing rejection in daily political contexts, but also leads to a noticeable counter-pressure in the cultural and art scene, which we would like to pursue in this event.
