A documentary about the favorite shopping destination for Yugoslavs: Trieste in Italy.
From the end of the 1950s, the Piazza Ponterosso in the center of Trieste became a myth for all of Yugoslavia’s citizens. During the '70s and '80s, the object that symbolized this myth is the blue jeans. During those years millions of Slavs visited Trieste at least once or twice in a year. In the '90s, with war raging in Yugoslavia, all of this came to a halt. The film is a mosaic of stories and testimonies, from both sides of the border, that tries to recall those fabulous years.
Entrance to the film is free as usual. Food from 7.30 p.m., films from 8.30 p.m.
A meal costs €10. Please reserve your plate until the evening before by sending an email to speisekino(at)zku-berlin.org.
