GÜTERMARKT WINTER EDITION

Made by hands, not by brands

14 DECEMBER 2025 / 11 AM - 7 PM

ZK/U BerlinSiemensstr. 27, 10551, Berlin, Germany

Just in time for the holidays, the ZK/U – Center for Art and Urbanistics is hosting a special winter edition of GÜTERMARKT. Instead of consumerism and mass-produced goods, the focus here is on DIY, swapping, repairing, and reusing. The market celebrates creative ideas, solidarity, and plenty of festive cheer in the heart of Moabit.

Between arts and crafts stands with local makers and open craft stations, there will be cutting, pasting, knitting, and recycling. Here, handmade gifts are created – sometimes by others, sometimes by yourself. And at the gift wrapping station, gifts can be wrapped directly and in a resource-saving manner – with reused materials, of course.

Feel free to bring your own materials or little treasures and join in the big pre-holiday crafting!

A diverse musical program with local musicians will set the mood – from soft winter sounds to danceable beats amid the scent of mulled wine and fairy lights. Refreshments will also be provided: hot, vegan, regional – and guaranteed to warm you up.

Come by, bring your friends, children, and neighbors, and celebrate winter with us!

Annalena Boye is an artist from Berlin who uses acrylic, pigment, ink, wool, and beads. Her technique combines abstract clarity with experimental materials, creating layers and details that invite exploration. Her style is impressively emotional: through the interplay of color, texture, and line, she invites viewers to pause and experience deep emotional states—her works convey calm and give viewers a moment of arrival at themselves.

Postcards and illustrations by Studio Uppala

Studio Uppala is the small illustration studio of Moabit-based artist and designer Isa Zappe. Here she creates postcards, prints, and small works. The name “Uppala!” is a spontaneous exclamation that Isa often utters when minor mishaps occur. This attitude also characterizes her work: not perfect, but curious, experimental, and with a sense of humor.

Music Program in the Hall

Our musical winter program begins at 14:00 with Freies Vokalensemble Berlin, whose singers will provide a warm, festive start with Advent and Christmas carols.

At 15:00, Paul Blume, a Berlin musician and artist who combines ambient compositions with haunting songwriting, will take over. His pieces create intimate soundscapes that oscillate between delicate melancholy and floating vastness.

The program concludes at 17:00 with the scenic concert “Krise, Krise, Krokodil” (Crisis, Crisis, Crocodile) by KommaKlaus und die fünf Ausrufezeichen. With a mixture of humor, situational comedy, and thoughtful depth, KommaKlaus tells of crises, humanity—and a crocodile that reminds us who we want to be with each other. Music, lyrics, and stage presence combine to create a cheeky, fresh, poetic finale in which at least one symbol flies through the air.
