Zwischen dem 7. und 19. Mai 2020 veranstaltet das ZK/U sein erstes DIGITAL OPENHAUS.
Das OPENHAUS, in analoger Form, ist ein regelmäßig stattfindendes, öffentliches Format des ZK/U. Das Publikum ist eingeladen, das Residenzprogramm kennenzulernen und mit den aktuellen Resident*innen über ihre Projekte und Prozesse zu diskutieren.
Dieses Mal, in Zeiten des Social Distancings, öffnen sich den besuchenden Kunst- und Urbanismusinteressierten die virtuellen Türen des ZK/U Berlin. Im Rahmen unseres ersten DIGITAL OPENHAUS stellen 13 jetzige und frühere Resident*innen ihre laufenden Projekte online vor und nutzen so die Chance, über die explosiven Veränderungen, die das Social Distancing in die Kunstwelt, das Leben, und die Arbeit als Resident*in mit sich brachte, zu reflektieren.
Am 7. Mai 2020 startet ZK/U seine DIGITAL OPENHAUS-Webseite mit einer vielfältigen Sammlung von Projekten. Jeden Tag wird eine*r der Resident*innen die sozialen Kanäle des ZK/U übernehmen, wodurch das Publikum die verschiedensten künstlerischen sowie wissenschaftlichen Praktiken virtuell kennenlernen kann: von der kuratorischen Forschung bis zur Skulptur und von der Fotografie bis zum Sounddesign. Außerdem lässt das DIGITAL OPENHAUS eine neue Art der Interaktion mit den Resident*innen des ZK/U sowie eine Partizipation am digitalen Storytelling des ZK/U zu.
Gleichzeitig ist das DIGITAL OPENHAUS ein exploratives Projekt, das die Möglichkeiten einer langfristigen Integration digitaler Lösungen in die bestehenden Formate des ZK/U aufzunehmen erforscht.

Between May 7 and May 19, 2020, ZK/U is debuting its very first DIGITAL OPENHAUS.
The OPENHAUS is a regular public format that takes place every other month in ZK/U, inviting audiences to connect with the hosted projects and to explore the process of its residency programme.
This time around, rather than welcoming visitors in Moabit, ZK/U Berlin is opening its virtual doors to the quarantined crowds interested in art and urbanistics in times of social distancing. Within the framework of our first DIGITAL OPENHAUS, thirteen current and past residents will present their ongoing projects online and will reflect on the explosive changes social distancing brought into the art scene, their work and their daily lives in the residency.
On May 7th, 2020, ZK/U is launching its DIGITAL OPENHAUS website with a diverse collection of projects for the virtual audience to explore. Every day, one of the participating fellows will take over ZK/U social media, where users can learn about different practices from curatorial research to sculpture and from photography to sound design. OPENHAUS going digital not only allows new crowds to tune in, but also opens up entirely new ways for people to interact with ZK/U residents and to take part in the residency’s digital storytelling.
At the same time, the DIGITAL OPENHAUS is an explorative project that interrogates the possibilities of the long-term integration of digital and online solutions into existing ZK/U formats.
