Zahra Fulandvand is interested in exploring the relation of the found audiences and unconventional environment for Performing Arts as well as the relation of the ritualistic aspect of life, and the function of it in community based performative events.
She received her Bachelor and Master degree from Tehran Art University. Recently, Zahra received her PhD degree from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts DLA school. During my study at DLA, she started to experience the unconventional environment in her art practices. Performing in the metro line 2 in Budapest (“The Mirror”, 2019), in the street in front of her previous building (“280 Days”, 2020), as well as creating video art (“14 Days”, 2019) shot in a hospital room, are parts of this journey to explore the relation between audiences in non-theatrical environments with performance. Zahra's DLA thesis is entitled “Community, Place and Environment in Ritual Performance” and the piece for her Master degree is entitled “After Death”, performed on the rooftop of the calvary building in Epreskert Budapest, in relation to a Zoroastrian Funeral Ceremony in Iran.
