Verónica Troncoso

(Chile)

I live and work in Santiago de Chile. I am an artist and academic at the University of Chile where I have developed different interdisciplinary research projects, about processes of creating and teaching. I am  also a researcher in several research centers related to archive, art and memory.
I define my work as visual productions - which reflect on processes of research about different facts related to human rights' violations in Chile - exploring the ability of art to create a language that relate these stories.
For my projects, I work with files, testimonials, images, objects and sounds, which show ghosts and  absences of the past, by making a way for the past to return again and again into the present. This past is present in the city through the bodies and their sounds and allow us to experience the stories about exile and resistance regardless of its language and location.
