Sophia Schultz Rocha is a Colombian-American filmmaker, photographer, and artist born in Sarasota, Florida and based in Oakland, California. Through film photography, alternative photo processes, filmmaking, and sculpture their work addresses inter-generational memory and healing as a collective tool. They are interested in the human relationship to nature within and outside of an urban setting while understanding the body as an archive and reactor to the environment. Sophia has exhibited at institutions such as Southern Exposure (San Francisco, CA), SF Camera Work (San Francisco, CA), Elsewhere Museum (Greensboro, NC), Ringling Museum (Sarasota, FL). Sophia is part of a women and trans-spectrum artist collective called CTRL+SHFT Collective in Oakland, California.
