Kate Chen is a Chinese-American artist and spatial designer based in Berlin. Her practice focuses on the political and poetic entanglements between the body, cybernetics, and architecture. Recently, she is investigating material forms of the virtual –– especially clouds, maps, borders, archives, and black boxes. She is drawn to the myths, protocols, and especially glitches in these systems. The ideas have taken the form of installation, video, drawing, text, and scenography.

Kate has participated in exhibitions, talks, and residencies at Agora Collective, SomoS Art House, Savvy Contemporary, WISP Laboratory, Frappant Galerie, ACUD Galerie and forthcoming Feldfünf Projekträume, et al.
