Essé ‘Essenam’ Dabla-Attikpo is an Accra-based independent Curator, Art Consultant and Cultural Producer from Togo and Benin. She holds a Master’s Degree in project Management and Intercultural Studies from La Sorbonne, Paris, France.
She is an expert in production of cultural events with close to 10 years of experience in France and West Africa. Her main interests are African Contemporary Art and Urban Cultures.
She is the co-director of yoyo tinz, an Accra-based cultural start up that promotes, documents and archives hip hop culture on the African continent. yoyo tinz is also the creator of Ghana’s first ever hip hop festival, the yoyo tinz festival.
Essé is the founder of This No Be Art, an art consultancy which creates unique experiences around African Contemporary Art and encourage a collecting culture. In 2021 This No Be Art singlehandedly generated $50,000 of direct income for a dozen of Accra-based upcoming and mid-career visual artists.
Her strengths lie in her intercultural sensibilities and ability to build and maintain genuine relationships with creatives wherever she finds herself.
