Claudine Zia

(Denmark, Iran)

As a curator and writer, I find it essential to communicate the production and representation of art to larger concerns, while simultaneously providing an expanded field for how aesthetics can be perceived in various institutional settings and in public spaces. In both my curatorial work and writings, I highly emphasise the importance of socio-political, cultural and/or economic structures to the development of the history, theory and philosophy of art. Since 2010 I have written and lectured within the field of contemporary art, socially engaged art, and self-organisation/DIY spaces.
