Wir freuen uns sehr auf das erste OPENHAUS des Jahres. Am 26. Januar ab 19 Uhr öffnen die Residents des ZK/U Berlin die Türen ihrer Ateliers.
Das OPENHAUS lädt dazu ein, die vielfältigen Interessen der ansässigen Künstler:innen zu erleben, die sich in Installationen, Skulpturen, Performance, Videokunst, Sound, Zeichnungen, KI und Text wiederspiegeln.
Die Residents freuen sich darauf, ihre Ideen und Arbeiten über antikoloniale Zukünfte, Fabulation und Science Fiction in der Gegenwart, Moral und Metapher, der Erschaffung einer neuen Religion, sozialen Ordnung, unvorhersehbaren Landschaften und menschlichem Verhalten zu zeigen, teilen und disktuieren.

Vor dem ZK/U, auf der Urbane Bühne, werden Vassilii und Stepan Subbotin den kollektiven Prozess ihrer Mitstreiter:innen vom KICA (Krasnodarer Institut für zeitgenössische Kunst) und zeichnerische Arbeiten für die Medienplattform CCA Typography im Zusammenhang mit ihrem aktuellen Projekt "Flags of Solidarity" zeigen.

Die Januar-Ausgabe von OPENHAUS ist Teil des Vorspiel-Programms, einem stadtweiten Veranstaltungsprogramm vor und während der transmediale und des CTM-Festivals.

We are very much looking forward to the first OPENHAUS of the year. On January 26 from 7 p.m., ZK/U Berlin is inviting its residents to open the doors to their studios. The OPENHAUS invites to experience the diverse interests of the artists in residence, reflected and resonating in installations, sculptures, performance, video-art, sound, drawings, AI and text. 
The residents are looking forward to sharing their ideas and work-in-progress about anti-colonial futurities, fabulation and science fiction in the present, morality and metaphor, creation of a new religion, social order, unpredictable landscapes and human behaviour.

In front of ZK/U at Urbane Bühne, Vassilii and Stepan Subbotin will show the collective process of their comrades from KICA (Krasnodar institute for contemporary art) and drawing works for the media platform CCA Typography connected to their current project „Flags of Solidarity“.

The January edition of OPENHAUS will be part of the Vorspiel program, a citywide program of events before and during the transmediale and CTM festivals.

Im Jahr 2019 wurde der Grundstein für die Erweiterung des ZK/U Gebäudes gelegt. Zwei Jahre später haben wir unser Dach auf den Kopf gestellt, es als Schiff umgebaut und uns auf die Reise zur documenta fifteen gemacht. Ende November wurde das neue Dach installiert und am 17.11.2022 mit Grußworten der Staatssekretärin für Mieterschutz und Quartiersentwicklung, Ülker Radziwill, des Stellvertretenden Bezirksbürgermeisters und Bezirksstadtrates für Stadtentwicklung und Facility Management, Ephraim Gothe und der Quartiersrätin Jutta Schauer, sowieo vielen Anwohner:innen und Interessierten Richtfest gefeiert.

Die Teileröffnung des erweiterten Gebäudeteils ist für Ende 2023 geplant, für 2024 die Vollinbetriebnahme. In Zukunft werden wir hier noch experimenteller, künstlerischer und zugänglicher leben und arbeiten.

Der ZK/U Ausbau ist gefördert durch die Europäische Union, die Bundesrepublik Deutschland, das Land Berlin im Rahmen der Zukunftsinitiative Stadtteil, Programm Sozialer Zusammenhalt.

In 2019, the foundation stone was laid for the expansion of the ZK/U building. Two years later, we turned our roof upside down, rebuilt it as a ship and embarked on a journey to documenta fifteen. The new roof was installed at the end of November and the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on November 17, 2022 together with many neighbours and interested parties, having greetings from the State Secretary for Tenant Protection and Neighborhood Development, Ülker Radziwill, the Deputy District Mayor and District City Councilor for Urban Development and Facility Management, Ephraim Gothe and the Neighborhood Councilor Jutta Schauer.

The partial opening of the expanded part of the building is planned for the end of 2023, with full commissioning in 2024. In the future, we will live and work here in an even more experimental, artistic and accessible way.

The ZK/U expansion is funded by the European Union, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the State of Berlin as part of the Future Initiative for Urban Districts, Social Cohesion Program.

Es scheint schon fast ein entfernter Fiebertraum aus heißen Sommertagen zu sein, nun ist die abenteuerliche Reise der citizenship in Ton und Farbe im Internet zu bestaunen. 

Im Sommer 2022 wurde das alte Dach des ZK/U auf den Kopf gestellt und in ein Boot verwandelt, das eine Crew, Bürger:innen, Künstler:innen, Artefakte und Rituale beherbergt. Die citizenship begab sich auf eine mehrwöchige Reise von Berlin zur documenta fifteen und fuhr ohne fossile Brennstoffe auf Flüssen und Kanälen durch die mitteldeutsche Landschaft: ein schwimmendes künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt.

It seems almost a distant fever dream from hot summer days, now the adventurous journey of the citizenship can be tracked in sound and color on the Internet. 

In the summer of 2022, the old roof of the ZK/U was turned upside down and transformed into a boat, housing a crew, citizens, artists, artifacts and rituals. The citizenship embarked on a journey of several weeks from Berlin to documenta fifteen, traveling without fossil fuels on rivers and canals through the central German landscape: a floating artistic research project.

Die TURN2 Residents Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi, Alibeta und Elham Khattab, welche 2022 für jeweils mehrere Monate ZK/U - Residents waren, sprechen jeweils mit ihren Mentor:innen über ihre postkolonialen, kuratorischen Praktiken, aktuellen Forschungsprojekte und ihre Residency in Berlin.

Zum Februar 2023 suchen wir eine Person, die niedrigschwellige Frei- und Erfahrungsräume zusammen mit ausgewählten Künstler:innen im und am ZK/U entwickelt. Ziel ist es, Moabiter Communities im Park rund um das ZK/U zu erreichen und in die künstlerische Praxis in der Ständigen Vertretung einzubinden. Wechselseitigkeit, Sichtbarmachung unterschiedlicher Perspektiven und Respekt stehen dabei im Mittelpunkt der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung. In Zusammenarbeit mit insgesamt drei auszuwählenden Künstler:innen darf die/der Community-Arbeiter:in künstlerische Interventionen entwickeln, um gemeinsam mit den Moabiter Communities die Ständige Vertretung als Ort des Dialogs im ZK/U zu nutzen.

As of February 2023, we are looking for a person who will develop low-threshold free and experiential spaces together with selected artists. The aim is to reach out to Moabit communities in the park around the ZK/U and to integrate them into the artistic practice at Ständige Vertretung. Mutuality, making different perspectives visible and respect are at the center of the artistic debate. In cooperation with a total of three artists to be selected, the community worker may develop artistic interventions in order to use Ständige Vertretung as a place of dialogue in ZK/U together with the Moabit communities.

Und noch eine kleine Notiz zum Abschluss: KUNSTrePUBLIK wurde letztes Jahr beim Wettbewerb “Kunst am Bau für das Erweiterungsgebäude des Bundeskanzleramtes” mit ihrem Beitrag “Zyklus” mit einem zweiten Platz ausgezeichnet. Die einzelnen Wettbewerbsbeiträge sind online zu sehen.
