Mitten im Ural setzen sich tausende Stadtbewohner*innen gegen die Bebauung eines städtischen Teiches ein. Am Dnjepr kommt kulturelles Leben in ein jahrelang leerstehendes Militärgebäude. Und an der polnisch-belarussischen Grenze wird die Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts im Stadtraum spür- und erfahrbar gemacht. Im Projekt CETKA (russ. “Netz”) geht ein vierköpfiges Projektteam vom ZK/U Berlin der Frage nach, was in den Regionen abseits der Hauptstädte in Belarus, der Ukraine und Russland passiert: Wer sind die Menschen, die dort bleiben und mit welchen Themen beschäftigen sie sich? Und wie können Initiativen, Kollektive und zivilgesellschaftliche Akteure über ihre Region hinaus wirken?

CETKA recherchiert sogenannte Botschafter*innen des Wandels in ausgewählten Regionen, die sich als aktive Gestalter*innen der Zivilgesellschaft künstlerisch für ortsspezifische Themen einsetzen. Sie leiten Kunst- und Kulturzentren, organisieren Demonstrationen und Performances, setzen sich für architektonisches Kulturerbe und partizipative Prozesse ein. Auf einer Online-Plattform werden sie in kurzen dokumentarischen Videoclips ihre Region und ihr Engagement für den Wandel darstellen.

Das Projekt startet mit einem Kick-Off vom 12.-13. Dezember 2019 in Berlin, wo eingeladenen Botschafter*innen sich austauschen und ein Konzept der Videoplattform gemeinsam erarbeiten. Die Dreharbeiten erfolgen von April bis August 2020. Die Ergebnisse werden im Dezember 2020 in Minsk öffentlich präsentiert und diskutiert.

Aktuell mit im Team sind Repräsentant*innen aus Omsk, Krasnodar, Kirov, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk und Tatarstan, aus Brest und Minsk, sowie aus Dnipro.

CETKA wird gefördert durch das Auswärtige Amt.

Announcement

Just in the centre of the Ural Mountains, thousands of city dwellers are fighting against a building plan for a city pond. At the river Dnjepr, cultural life is moving into an old, abandoned military facility. And at the Polish-Belarusian border, the history of the 20th century can be experienced within the city’s boundaries. For the project CETKA (Russian for “net”), four members of ZK/U Berlin take on the question of what goes on beyond the capital cities of Belarus, the Ukraine and Russia: Who are the people, that reside there? What are they’re daily topics? And how can initiatives, collectives and civil-society actors have an effect beyond their own regions?

CETKA researches the so-called ambassadors of change in selected regions. These active shapers of civil society discuss the site-specific topics artistically. They manage centres of arts and culture, organise demonstrations and performances, advocate for architectural cultural heritage and participative processes. By means of an online platform, they will demonstrate their commitment to change as well as their region in short documental video clips.

The project will start with a kick-off event from December 12-13, 2019 in Berlin, where invited ambassadors of change can exchange amongst each other and then elaborate a concept for the video plattform. The filming will take place from April till August 2020, before the results will be presented and discussed in December 2020 in Minsk.

Currently part of the team are representatives from Omsk, Krasnodar, Kirov, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Arkhangelsk, Tatarstan, Brest, Minsk and Dnipro.

Unser nächstes OPENHAUS findet am 23.01.2020 als Teil von “Vorspiel” statt, welches von der transmediale und CTM organisiert wird.
Vorspiel zeigt ein umfangreiches Programm bestehend aus Aus- und Darstellungen aller Art in Kooperation mit über 50 Galerien und unabhängigen kulturellen Akteuren. Wir nehmen, wie auch schon in den Jahren zuvor, mit dem OPENHAUS-Format daran teil. 

Während des OPENHAUS, welches jeden zweiten Monat stattfindet, sind die Tore zur Residenz des ZK/U für die Öffentlichkeit geöffnet, die somit einen Einblick in die Arbeit unserer Residenzkünstler*innen erhalten können. Dabei stehen neben den künstlerischen Projekten vor allem der Diskurs und der rege Austausch zwischen den Künstler*innen und den Besuchenden im Fokus. Für diese Sonderedition mit Vorspiel sind unsere Residenzkünstler*innen dazu eingeladen, Objekte vergessener und potentieller Zukünfte mit oder ohne Netzwerke zu reflektieren und auf sie zu reagieren.

Our next OPENHAUS on January 23rd, 2020, will be a part of Vorspiel, organized by transmediale and CTM.  

Vorspiel will have a rich program consisting of exhibitions and all kinds of displays with over 50 galleries and independent cultural actors participating. We will take part in the program with the OPENHAUS format, as we did in the previous years.

The OPENHAUS is a recurring format where we open the doors of our residency and give the public a chance to discover our residents’ artistic projects, discuss and exchange directly with them. Nicht nur in Prag, Sopron, Leipzig und natürlich Berlin schauten die Menschen im Jahr 2019 zurück auf die Ereignisse von 1989. Perspektiven und Beziehungen wurden erneut auf den Prüfstand gestellt. Was geschah mit den Mauern, Grenzen und Systemen, die 1989 verschwanden? Sind sie uns im heutigen Europa wieder etwas näher gerückt, sind sie wieder sichtbar und wieder wahrnehmbar? Wie verkörpert sich der Geist von 1989 heute, 30 Jahre später, in der jüngeren Generation?

Zum Ende des Jahres 2019 essen wir gemeinsam, tanzen und feiern während wir uns jene Ereignisse ins Gedächtnis rufen, sie reflektieren und uns über sie austauschen. “Reflecting Europe”, ein Mini-Festival, findet im legendären Haus der Statistik am Alexanderplatz in Berlin statt.

Talks – Videos – Workshops – Concert

Not just in Prague, Sopron, Leipzig and, of course, Berlin, the year 2019 saw many people from all over Europe look back at the events of 1989. Perspectives and relations were put to the test again.What happened to the walls, borders and systems that disappeared in 1989? Are they again close to us in today’s Europe, again present and perceptible? How is the spirit of 1989 embodied by the young generation 30 years later?  

At the end of 2019, we will eat, dance and celebrate, as we remember, exchange and reflect on those events with “Reflecting Europe”, a mini festival at the legendary Haus der Statistik at Alexanderplatz in Berlin.

Grün- und Freiflächen

Im Vernetzungsratschlag #12 sprechen wir über Freiflächen am Haus der Statistik. Welche Qualitäten haben die geplanten Kieznischen, die Stadtzimmer und das Aktivitätenband entlang der Otto-Braun-Straße? Wie könnten Pioniernutzungen für die Freiflächen aussehen? Was kann bereits ab Frühjahr 2020 erprobt werden?

Wir freuen uns, die Aktivist:innen und Planer:innen von Endboss aus Hannover, sowie Treibhaus Landschaftsarchitekten aus Hamburg – die gemeinsam mit teleinternetcafe den städtebaulichen Entwurf erarbeitet haben – als inspirierende Gäste dabei zu haben. Nach einem kurzen Input wird wie gewohnt an Thementischen diskutiert und gearbeitet.

Die Vernetzungsratschläge sind für alle Interessierten offen – ohne Anmeldung. Für alle die das erste Mal dabei sind, gibt es ab 17:30 Uhr eine kurze Einführung in die Genese des Projekts, Beginn der Arbeitsphase um 18:00 Uhr.”

Green and open spaces

At Vernetzungsratschlag#12, we will discuss the open spaces in Haus der Statistik. Which qualities do the planned niches, city rooms, and the activity space along Otto-Braun-Straße have? How could these empty spaces be used by our pioneers?
We are excited to be joined by the Endboss activists and planners from Hannover. Moreover, Treibhaus – landscaping architects from Hamburg, who collaborated with teleinternetcafe to come up with a plan regarding urban development – will join us as part of the inspiring guests present that evening. As usual, there will be a short time dedicated to offering input before discussion rounds will be formed thematically.

All Vernetzungsratschläge are open to the interested public. No registration required. For anyone joining for the first time, there will be a brief introduction into the genesis of the project starting at 5.30 p.m. The working phase will begin at 6 p.m.

Der nächste Ko-Markt ist am 14.12. und die Türen von Haus D werden wieder geöffnet. Als Highlights gibt es einen Vintage-Sale mit der Berliner Stadtmission, ein Direkt-Konsum-Markt mit allerlei solidarischen und regionalen Produkt, sowie ein Weihnachtskonzert ohne Weihnachtslieder vom Chor der Statistik.

The next Ko-market is on 14.12. and the doors of house D will be opened again. As highlights there will be a vintage sale with the Berliner Stadtmission, a direct consumer market with all kinds of solidarity and regional products, as well as a Christmas concert without Christmas carols from the choir of statistics.
