Raviv Ganchrows Sound-Installation “Westhafen Ground-Electric” im Kellergewölbe des ZK/U wandelt das ehemalige Lagergebäude in einen Raum, der seine aktuelle industrielle Umgebung resoniert, um. Die Installation basiert auf tellurischen Strömungen, die an der Außenseite des Gebäudes gemessen und in Echtzeit in das Gewölbe übertragen werden. Kennzeichnende Frequenzbänder werden extrahiert und räumlich arrangiert, um begehbare Zonen unterschiedlicher tonaler Intensität zu gestalten.

Eintritt ist frei. Organisiert von singuhr e.V.

Sound installation by Raviv Ganchrow 

Raviv Ganchrow's sound installation "Westhafen Ground-Electric" in the cellar vaults of the ZK/U transforms the former warehouse building into an auditory space that resonates its current industrial surroundings. The installation is based on telluric currents, which are measured outside and transferred into the vaults in real time. Characteristic frequency bands are extracted and spatially arranged to create walk-in zones of varying tonal intensity.

Eine Ausstellung von Antoinette Yetunde Oni, Dane Komljen und Katrin Winkler. Kuratiert von Solvej Helweg Ovensen im Rahmen des Ausstellungsprogramms SoS (Soft Solidarity) konzipiert von Nataša Ilić und Solvej Helweg Ovesen

Eröffnung am 7.11.2019 von 19 bis 22 Uhr
Um 20 Uhr spricht Dane Komljen über seine Erfahrungen und frischen Eindrücke als Filmemacher in Lagos in seiner Installation »The Seven Elements«.

Um Künstler*innen und Kurator*innen aus Lagos und Berlin Einblicke in die Kunstwelt des jeweils anderen Landes zu ermöglichen und dort zu arbeiten, hat das Goethe- Institut Nigeria in Kooperation mit dem Amt für Weiterbildung und Kultur Berlin- Mitte, Galerie Wedding – Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst, ZK /U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, dem Kunstraum SAVVY Contemporary Berlin sowie der Arthouse Foundation Lagos das Residenzprogramm für junge Künstler*innen und Kurator*innen aus Berlin und Lagos ins Leben gerufen. Zu den Stipendiat*innen 2019 gehören die nigerianische Künstlerin Antoinette Yetunde Oni sowie die Berliner Künstler*innen Dane Komljen und Katrin Winkler.

At 8 pm Dane Komljen talks about his experiences and fresh impressions as a filmmaker in Lagos in his installation »The Seven Elements«.

In order to provide artists and curators from Lagos and Berlin with insights into the art world of the other country and to work there, the Goethe-Institut Nigeria in cooperation with the Department for Art and Culture Berlin-Mitte, Galerie Wedding – Space
for Contemporary Art, ZK/U – Center for Art and Urbanistics, the art space SAVVY Contemporary Berlin and the Arthouse Foundation Lagos, the residency program for young artists and curators from Berlin and Lagos. This year's scholarship holders 2019 include the Nigerian artist Antoinette Yetunde Oni, as well as the Berlin-based artists Dane Komljen and Katrin Winkler.

ZK/U Berlin Ausbau 2.0 Beteiligungsverfahren Teil 02/03: “Forecasting Futures”

Wir befinden uns mitten in der Planung des Ausbau des ZK/U –  Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik. In den nächsten Monaten sollen neue Flächen, neue Schwerpunkte und neue Ideen entwickelt werden. Wir laden alle Interessierten, Nachbar*innen, Freund*innen und Parkbegeisterte dazu ein, sich an diesem Prozess zu beteiligen.

Hierzu lädt das ZK/U Berlin Personen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen zu einem Runden Tisch ein, um mit ihrer Expertise ein an den lokalen Bedürfnissen orientiertes und den globalen Herausforderungen gerecht werdendes Haus zu entwickeln. Welche Struktur, welche Technologien, welche Diskurse können das Haus zu einen Prototypen für eine bessere Stadt machen?

Beim öffentlichen Teil des 2. Beteiligungsverfahrens werden die Ergebnisse der vorherigen Beteiligungsphasen und des Runden Tisches präsentiert und diskutiert. Wir laden ein, die Ergebnisse der vorherigen Gespräche gemeinsam mit dem Team des ZK/U Berlin und den eingeladenen Expert*innen zu diskutieren. Im Anschluss gibt es Essen, Musik und Zeit für informelle Gespräche.

Participation process 2.0

ZK/U Berlin Extension 2.0 Participation process Part 02/03: “Forecasting Futures”

We are in the midst of planning the expansion of the ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics building. In the upcoming months, new fields, focus points and ideas will be developed. We invite all neighbours, friends, park lovers and other actors to participate in this process.

As such, ZK/U invites people from various disciplines to a round table, in order to contribute with their expertise to the development of a house that meets local needs as well as global challenges. Which structure, which technologies and which discourses could make the house into a prototype for a better city?

In the public part of the second participation process, the results of previous participation phases as well as the round table will be presented and discussed. We invite to discuss the results of the previous conversations collectively with the ZK/U Berlin team and the invited experts. Afterward there will be food, music and time for informal conversations.

Offene Studios, Installationen und ResidentInnengespräche

Das OPENHAUS ist ein regelmäßig stattfindendes, öffentliches Format der Residenz des ZK/U Berlin. Auch im November lädt das Residenzprogramm das Publikum für einen Abend lang ein, um die Umgebung und Räume des ZK/Us zu entdecken, mit den ResidentInnen über deren Arbeitsprozesse zu diskutieren, Fragen zu stellen und bei einem gemeinsamen Essen, Ideen über laufende Projekte und künstlerische Praktiken auszutauschen.

The OPENHAUS is a regular public format at ZK/U Berlin. The audience is invited for another evening in November to explore the ZK/U spaces and surroundings, to speak with the residents about their working processes, to ask questions, and to exchange ideas about current projects and artistic practices over a collective dinner.

In den Themenabenden werden das gesamte Quartier Haus der Statistik betreffende Themen verhandelt. In den Informations- und Austauschformaten geben externe Expert:innen Anregungen, die vor dem Hintergrund der laufenden Quartiersentwicklung gemeinsam reflektiert und diskutiert werden. Teilnehmer:innen sind die Kooperationspartner Koop5, Planer:innen, Expert:innen und Interessierte aus der Stadtgesellschaft. Im Ergebnis der Themenabende stehen Fragestellungen zur Vertiefung an die Planer:innen und Gutachter:innen im laufenden B-Plan-Verfahren. Für alle die das erste Mal dabei sind, gibt es ab 17.30h eine kurze Einführung in die Genese des Projekts. At the Thematic Evenings, topics concerning the entire Quartier Haus der Statistik will be discussed. Through informative and exchange formats, external experts provide suggestions that are jointly reflected upon and discussed against the background of ongoing neighbourhood development. Participants are the cooperation partners Koop5, planners, experts and interested parties from the urban society. At end of the Thematic Evenings, the planners and experts will be available to answer questions about the current B-Plan procedure. For the newcomers, there will be a brief introduction to the genesis of the project from 5.30 p.m. onwards. Venue: Werkstatt Haus der Statistik.
