Schuberts Melodien haben überlebt. Unter den knapp 1000 Schubert-Liedern gibt es Ausgewählte, die uns fortreißen, die uns fassungslos hinterlassen. Was ist der Ton, die Grammatik dieser Kompostion, die uns so sehr anmacht? OMG Schubert nähert sich dieser Frage an. Mit allen Mitteln des Konzertdesigns rücken zwei klassisch ausgebildete Multiinstrumentalisten an, um der Sache auf einen Grund zu gehen. Dabei werden die Lieder verfremdet, neu gedacht, komponiert und inszeniert.

Schubert’s melodies have survived. Among his nearly 1000 Lieder, there are some that carry us away, some that leave us breathless; What distinguishes these compositions? What is their specific sound, the grammar of his compositions, that touches us so deeply? OMG Schubert concerns itself with these questions. With all means available to concert design, two classically schooled multi-instrumentalists set out to get to the bottom of the matter. As such, Schubert’s Lieder are defamiliarized only to be re-thought, re-composed and re-staged.

Die ADKV - Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine würdigt unsere Arbeit mit einer lobenden Erwähnung anlässlich der diesjährigen Preisvergabe des ADKV- Art Cologne Preises für Kunstvereine. Die Jury sagt: 
„Außerdem möchte die Jury den Berliner Kunstverein KUNSTrePUBLIK e.V. mit einer Lobenden Erwähnung auszeichnen. Der kleine Berliner Kunstverein hat mit dem ZK/U - Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik schrittweise seit 2012 einen experimentellen Ort etabliert, wo dem künstlerisch-urbanistischen und programmatisch-politischen Diskurs auf vielfältige Weise ein konkreter Raum gegeben wird.“

Wir gratulieren unseren KollegInnen vom KV Leipzig herzlichst zum ersten Platz und freuen uns sehr über das Silbertreppchen!
Der Preis (und unsere lobende Erwähnung) werden gemeinsam mit dem ADKV-ART COLOGNE Preis für Kunstkritik am Samstag, 13. April 2018, um 15 Uhr in Halle 11.1 der ART COLOGNE, gegenüber des ADKV-Messestandes C 009, verliehen.

The ADKV - Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine has given our work an Honourable Mention on the occasion of this year's ADKV-Art Cologne Award for Kunstvereine. The jury says: 

"In addition, the jury would like to honour the Berlin Kunstverein KUNSTrePUBLIK e.V. with a Special Mention. Since 2012, the small Berlin Kunstverein has gradually established the ZK/U - Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, an experimental location where artistic-urbanistic and programmatic-political discourse is given a concrete space in a variety of ways."

We warmly congratulate our colleagues from KV Leipzig on their first place, and we are very happy with our silver medal!

The Prize (and our Honourable Mention) will be awarded together with the ADKV-ART COLOGNE Prize for Art Criticism on Saturday, April 13th 2019 at 15.00 in Halle 11.1 of the ART COLOGNE fair, opposite ADKV booth C 009.

In unserem dritten Untersuchungsausschuss (UA#03) werden Solidaritätspraktiken in den Bereichen Kunst, Aktivismus und alternativer (Club-)Kultur untersucht. 

16.04 // Prekarisierung / Selbstausbeutung
In der dritten Veranstaltung zum Thema “Prekarisierung / Selbstausbeutung” beschäftigt sich der UA#03 mit der Situation der Kunst- und Kulturschaffenden. Die Bedingungen, unter denen Kultur- und Kunstschaffende arbeiten, sind oft prekär. In einer durch die Eigendynamik der bestehenden Verwertungs-Verwaltungs-Demokratie bestimmten Logik, in denen die Apparate der Akteur*innen jeden noch so kleinen Raum zur Geldvermehrung nutzen wollen, können sich freischaffende und antikapitalistisch arbeitende Künstler*innen und Kulturschaffende kaum noch behaupten. Gemeinsam mit der Magic Carpets Residentin Elena Mazzi untersuchen die Akteur*innen, wie solidarische Kunst oder künstlerische Solidarität funktionieren kann und wie diese Politisierung bewusste Handlungen und eigene Gültigkeitsansprüche im Kulturbereich beeinflusst.

If under attack - how to react?
Between Art, (Club) Culture and Resistant Structures

In our third Fact Finding Committee (UA#03) practices of solidarity in the areas of art, activism and alternative (club) culture will be explored. 

16.04 // Precarization/ Self-exploitation: 
In the third event the UA#03 will work on the topic of ‘Precarious Situations/Self-Exploitation’, and deal with the situation of artists and cultural workers. The conditions under which artists and creative professionals work are often precarious. In a logic determined by the inherent dynamics of the existing exploitation-administration-democracy, in which the apparatuses of capitalism want to use even the smallest free spaces to make more money, freelance and anti-capitalist artists and creators of culture can hardly assert themselves. Together with Magic Carpets resident Elena Mazzi, the protagonists will investigate how solidary art or artistic solidarity could function, and how this politicization influences conscious actions and claims of validity in the cultural sector.

Threads*ZK/U kehrt mit einer weiteren Reise in die körperlose Stimme und dem sensibel gesammelten Klang zurück. Threads*ZK/U ist das Partnerstudio von Threads Radio (London). Es baut auf der dynamischen Vernetzung des ZK/U Berlin auf und spiegelt sein Streben nach Bedeutungsbildung und Störungen im urbanen Bereich wider.

The OPENHAUS is a regular public format that takes place every month in ZK/U Berlin, inviting audiences to connect with the hosted projects and to explore the process of its residency program.

Das MORE WORLD-Projekt lädt ein, gemeinsam kommunale Werkzeuge für globale Herausforderungen zu untersuchen. Dafür schafft die Internetzeitung berlinergazette.de einen eigenen Bereich. Alle denkbaren Wissensproduzent*innen sowie Expert*innen des Alltags sind eingeladen, Beiträge im Umfang von 10.000 Zeichen beizutragen. Höhepunkt des MORE WORLD-Projekts wird die Berliner Gazette-Jahreskonferenz sein, die vom 10.-12.10.2019 im ZK/U Berlin stattfinden wird.

The BG’s 20th anniversary project MORE WORLD invites you to explore together with us communal tools for planetary challenges. To this end, the internet newspaper berlinergazette.de has created a special section. All kinds of producers of (subjugated) knowledge are invited to contribute reports, essays, interviews, etc. Text length: 10.000 characters. The MORE WORLD project will culminate in the BG annual conference, which will take place at ZK/U Berlin on Oct. 10-12, 2019.

"Unter Emigranten - Generation Y @ ZK/U" startet im April und ist Teil einer Reihe mehrsprachiger Kalligraphie-Wandgemälde im öffentlichen Raum Berlins, die auf der Kurzgeschichte „Unter Emigranten“ (1923) basiert, die der jüdische Schriftsteller David Bergelson in den 1920er Jahren in Berlin verfasste. Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson (1984, Moskau), David Bergelsons Urenkelin ist eine Kalligraphie-Künstlerin mit eigenem Migrationshintergrund.

AMONG REFUGEES GENERATION Y
Prose as hybrid calligraphy in Berlin's public space 

"Among Refugees Generation Y @ ZK/U" starts in April and is part of a series of multilingual calligraphy murals in public spaces in Berlin, based on the short story „Among Refugees“ (1923), written by the Jewish author David Bergelson in Berlin in the 1920s. Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson (1984, Moscow), David Bergelson's great granddaughter, is a calligraphy artist with a migrant background of her own.

09.05. // SPEISEKINO: Saisoneröffnung!

Das Speisekino 2019 steht in den Startlöchern! Vom 9. Mai bis Ende September findet jeden Donnerstagabend ein Speisekino im ZK/U Berlin statt. Wir haben ein abwechslungsreiches Programm aus Film und Essen zusammengestellt, das aus Dokumentarfilmen, Kunstfilmen und Spielfilmen besteht, die jede Woche zu einem besonderen und einzigartigen Zwei-Gänge-Menü kombiniert werden. Im Mai beginnen wir mit dem Film „Zwischenlandung in Moskau“ von 1963. Wir sehen, wie ein DDR-Vagabundkünstler eine Fabrik in Amsterdam besetzt und schließlich zu einem erfolgreichen Kunsthändler wird. Ab 19.00 Uhr sind die Türen geöffnet, das Essen wird um 19.30 Uhr serviert und die Filme beginnen um 20.30 Uhr. Das vollständige Programm wird in Kürze auf unserer Website veröffentlicht. 09.05. // SPEISEKINO / FOOD AND FOOTAGE: Season opening!

Speisekino 2019 is about to kick off! Every Thursday evening from the 9th of May until the end of September, ZK/U will host a Speisekino event. We have composed a programme of food and footage with weekly documentaries, art movies and feature films, each combined with a unique two course dinner. In May we start with „Walking the Streets of Moscow“ from 1963. The film shows how a DDR vagabond artist squats a factory in Amsterdam, and finally becomes a successful art dealer. Our doors open every Thursday from 19.00, food will be served from 19.30 onward and the movies start at 20.30. Complete programme coming soon on our website!
