Von April bis Oktober 2018 werden in einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Künstler_innen Adam Page & Eva Hertzsch, dem ZK/U, der Jugendeinrichtung Karame e.V. und Parkbesucher_innen Nutzungsideen für das Kunstwerk "V.I.P. Box" als Teilarchitektur des Parks und des ZK/U entwickelt und umgesetzt.
Am Freitag, den 15.06.2018 ab 18 Uhr findet die erste Kooperation zwischen den Akteuren statt. Unter dem Titel 'BATTLE OF RAMADAN' wird es ein Rap-, HipHop- und Tanz-Battle mit dem Moabiter Musiklabel “Respekt Berlin” geben Am selben Abend (gegen 20 Uhr) wird die V.I.P. Box dann im Sinne ihrer Namensgebung benutzt: als Stadion-Loge, um das Fußballspiel Spanien vs. Portugal anzuschauen, im Rahmen des WM-'Public Viewing'-Format FUSSBALLABALLA.
Über die V.I.P. BOX
Die V.I.P. Box (vormals Executive Box) von Adam Page & Eva Hertzsch beschäftigt sich mit der Aneignung von öffentlichen Räumen durch ihre Nutzer_innen. Ihre dauerhafte Installation im Parkgelände vor dem ZK/U-Gebäude möchte einen Dialog starten zwischen Anwohner_innen, die den Park nutzen, und Künstler_innen, die das ZKU-Gebäude nutzen, über Themen wie Eigentum, Privileg und gerechte Stadt. Seit März 2018 produzieren die Künstler_innen mit lokalen Jugendlichen und mit Karame e.V. Plakate, Zeichnungen und Texte für die Wände der Box als „work-in-progess“. Die V.I.P. Box steht 2018 dauerhaft auf dem Parkgelände des ZK/U und wurde zum ersten Mal 1997 auf der documenta X ausgestellt.

The artists Adam Page & Eva Hertzsch will collaborate with ZKU, Karame youth club and park users from April to October 2018 to develop and implement ideas about how the artwork "V.I.P. Box" can be used as a sub-architecture of the park and of ZKU.
On Friday, the 15th June 2018 from 6 pm the first co-operation between the actors/ initiatives will take place. Under the title 'BATTLE OF RAMADAN' there will be a rap, hip-hop and dance battle with the Moabiter record label “Respekt Berlin”. On the same evening (around 8 pm), the V.I.P. Box will then be used according to the origin of its name: to watch the football match Spain vs. Portugal as part of the World Cup 'Public Viewing' format FUSSBALLABALLA.
About the V.I.P. Box
The artwork V.I.P. Box (formerly Executive Box) by Adam Page & Eva Hertzsch is concerned with the appropriation of public spaces by their users. Its long-term installation in the small park surrounding ZKU seeks to initiate a dialogue about ownership, privilege and socially just cities between local people who use the park and artists who use the ZKU building. Since März 2018 the artists have been producing drawings, texts and posters for the Box walls with local young people and the Karame youth club. V.I.P. Box was first exhibited at documenta X in 1997 and is installated long-term in ZK/U park in 2018.
