Nach 5 Jahren Umbau erwacht das ZK/U mit voller Kraft: Der Mai bringt nicht nur Sonnenschein in den Moabiter Stadtgarten, sondern auch eine Vielzahl von Veranstaltungen, Begegnungen und offenen Formaten. Gartenaktion, Filmabend, Bau-Workshop oder Studio-Rundgang – die Türen stehen offen und der Kalender prall gefüllt. Wir freuen uns auf euch, und auf das gemeinsame Kennenlernen von und Eingrooven in neuen Räumen, Möglichkeiten und Abläufen.

Good things sometimes take time. After five years of transformation, ZK/U is coming back to life in full force: May not only brings sunshine to the Moabit city garden, but also a vibrant array of events, encounters, and open formats.

On May 1st, we’re turning Labour Day into LaBAR Day – and you’re warmly invited to the very first test run of our new rooftop bar: The View.
From 4 to 8 PM, join us for drinks with a view, a soft opening with a breeze, and golden hour over the rooftops of Moabit.

Wir starten in die Saison 2025 von Food & Footage mit „Vitić Dances (Vitić pleše)“ von Boris Bakal – ein vielschichtiger Dokumentarfilm über Erinnerung, Gemeinschaft und urbanen Raum, der Geschichte der Restaurierung eines modernistischen Wohnblocks in Zagreb. Vor dem Film laden wir zu einem Drei-Gänge-Menü ein. Film und Essen greifen thematisch ineinander und schaffen einen besonderen Raum für Austausch.

Der Film ist auf Kroatisch mit englischen Untertiteln.
Der Eintritt zur Filmvorführung ist kostenlos. Das Abendessen ist optional und kostet 15 € pro Person (Getränke nicht inbegriffen).

We’re kicking off the 2025 season of Food & Footage with "Vitić Dances (Vitić pleše)" by Boris Bakal – a layered documentary about memory, community, and urban space, telling the story of the restoration of a modernist residential building in Zagreb. Before the film, we invite you to a three-course dinner. Film and food are thematically intertwined, creating a unique space for exchange.

The film is in Croatian with English subtitles.

Admission to the film screening is free. Dinner is optional and costs 15 € per person (drinks not included).

Doors open at 7:00 PM, dinner will be served at 7:30 PM, and the film will begin at 8:30 PM.

Am 10. Mai 2025 wird das ZK/U zur Bühne für kleiner tanz – eine neue Reihe, kuratiert von Kollektiv Untergang, die Tanz auf dem Vulkan im kleinen Format, aber mit großer Dringlichkeit weiterführt.
Mit Babyjoy, Ceren, pako peng, Yosho und dem Jungen Chor der Deutschen Oper Berlin stehen klangliche Vielfalt, gesellschaftliche Haltung und neue Narrative im Mittelpunkt – Kultur für alle, Tickets ab 11 €.

Im Fokus steht nicht das fertige Werk, sondern der Weg dorthin – ein Raum für Begegnung, Austausch und neue Perspektiven auf Installation, Skulptur, Malerei, Performance, Fotografie, Sound, Forschung und Text.

Every two months, ZK/U opens its doors: At OPENHAUS, resident artists and project partners invite the public to explore their studios and creative processes.
The focus is not on final results but on the journey itself – offering space for exchange, encounters, and new perspectives across installation, sculpture, painting, performance, photography, sound, research, and text.
