On a Winter’s Night and Tête d’un homme (Portrait of a man) are two short films that are part of Alexandra Handal’s web documentary, Dream Homes Property Consultants (DHPC). This on-line agency uses expropriated Palestinian houses to uncover stories of displacement, dispossession and cultural cleansing from West Jerusalem. Through personal tales of abrupt goodbyes, impossible reunions and suspended dreams, the human experience of loss, pain and desire is conveyed with a tragicomic edge.

Faultline is about the Caledonian Canal, an artificial construction that was built to link a series of lochs located on a fault line across Scotland. The video is divided in chapters, combining images from a trip on the last steam boat operating in the canal, called Vic 32, with images from floating wooden rafts I built inspired on the Scottish tartan patterns. This work is a result of an experience of living onboard of another boat, Loch Ness Barge, at the Loch Ness Art Residency, in Inverness, Scotland.
