December 2019: 12 CETKA ambassadors* meet at the ZK/U Berlin, develop ideas how their regions and their work can be presented in film and what holds the network together internally. Extensive filming trips from the Dnieper to the Pacific Ocean were planned for spring and summer. December 2020: A worldwide pandemic caused all trips to be cancelled, meetings were held only in online space, entire teams were quarantined. But also that we could (virtually) expand our network and activate local forces. The political and social situation in Belarus meant that our partner organisation Minsk Urban Platform was working out of exile in Ukraine and the lives of all civil society and cultural actors on the ground changed abruptly. In spite of all obstacles, the ambassadors continued to work collectively on the basic values and fields of action of CETKA, were trained as filmmakers and made 3- to 7-minute short films in their cities: with much humour, reflection, self-confidence, thoughtfulness and confidence in the future.

We are proud to present the results one year after the first meeting: The screening of the final short films, going live with the ambassadors* and the presentation of the platform will take place on 3 December between 3 and 8 pm online and for Berliners* in the pavilion Werkstatt Haus der Statistik on Alexanderplatz. If the Berlin Senate extends its measures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, the entire event will be offered online.
The short films will also be available for pedestrians* from 3-4 December 2020 in the pavilion's display window (Otto-Braun-Str. 70-72) and later on our online platform!
