Natalia Cossio Sánchez

(Colombia)

Natalia Cossio Sánchez is a Colombian interdisciplinary researcher and artist whose work bridges biology, ecology, art, and material e. With a background in biological sciences and ecological research, her practice explores the relationships between fungi, living systems, and socioecological transformation through biomaterial design and artistic experimentation. She is the co-founder of Habitar el Micelio, a collective dedicated to developing mycelium-based materials from locally sourced waste while fostering public engagement through workshops and collaborative research. Her projects investigate decay as a generative process, positioning non-human organisms as active collaborators in creative and ecological practices. Combining scientific methodologies with artistic inquiry, Natalia develops research-driven installations, participatory laboratories, and circular material systems that challenge conventional understandings of production, waste, and more-than-human coexistence.
