Franca Petroni is an artist and performer based between Naples and Milan. Her work focuses on the body as a political space and develops at the intersection of dance, instant composition, and writing. Her pieces unfold within site-specific contexts where the body actively engages in dialogue with the landscape and its elements.
Her practice emerges in a liminal space where the boundaries between the individual and the collective are constantly questioned. She creates environments that place the body at the center of an ongoing renegotiation, involving public and private spheres, individuality and collectivity, as well as the relationships between human and non-human elements within the landscape.
Since 2018, she has been active in Milan's underground scene, collaborating with groups such as Macao, a new center for art and culture; Fikafutura, a transfeminist experimental theater collective; and Hào Mĕilì, a project blending movement, DJing, and vocal improvisation. In 2020, she co-founded Sant3 Molest3, an interdisciplinary collective merging fiber art and performance. She is also an active collaborator with the Mediterranean association Landescape, where she works as both a curator and artist, with a specific focus on the performing arts.
