Aliaxey Talstou is an artist and a writer, based in Hamburg, Germany.
As an artist, he works with topics of social and political tension, technology and its impact on the human mind, and the theme of the crisis in general, while employing different media, predominantly drawings, performance, video, and text.
During the 2010s’ he was active in the Belarusian art scene presenting such shows and projects as Self-control (gallery Ў, Minsk; 2013), Crystal series (Minsk, 2016), and Soup of Time (gallery of KX space, Brest, Belarus; 2020). Talstou is also known as a curator and a cultural worker. He was a curator at the gallery CECH in Minsk, and a project leader in the collaborative research project Status: role of artists in changing society. He also writes on art and politics for cultural and art magazines and is the author of several novels.
In 2021 Talstou moved to Hamburg, Germany, and dedicated himself to his long-term frame project Soup of Time which manifests itself in a series of graphic, video essayistic, and literary work.
