Ahreum Lee
(South Korea)
Ahreum Lee is an interdisciplinary media artist, musician, and game maker whose practice explores the ritualistic and political dimensions of everyday technology. Working across games, web art, 3D animation, sound, and performance, she examines how technological systems mediate emotion, shape social relations, and structure power. Her current research engages participatory performance design as critical methods for processing lived social violence, particularly around microaggression and collective resilience. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Ahreum is based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. Her work has been presented at the Canadian Cultural Centre (Paris), Arsenal Art Contemporain Montréal (BIAN), Fonderie Darling, Third Shift Festival, and Axis Lab (Chicago). She has participated in residencies at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, and Eastern Bloc.
