Milly’s work at the ZK/U responded to the theme of ‘Relational Urbanism’. This project built on her practice of participatory urban design and collective organising in the UK, and on archival and spatial research in Berlin.
Drawing on the anthropologist Arturo Escobar’s ‘Designs for the Pluriverse’, she experimented with relational mapping alongside diverse forms of collective recording such as audio, poetry and model-making to develop tools to enact more equitable neighbourhood transitions. Within this project, emphasis is placed on collaboration between unusual allies as a crucial form of creative practice.
The outcomes from her research are captured in the publication “Making, Unmaking, Remaking”, published with ZK/U ResPress in 2026.
