While in residence, Jessica Segall worked towards her upcoming solo exhibition at Locust Projects in Miami as well as conducting research on her ongoing project, Switch, in collaboration with local fashion designers.
Switch is a multichannel video and performance piece and love story. Viewing the upcoming ecological crisis through the lenses of desire, fetish, and extraction, Jessica asks the question, “Who will enjoy climate change?” Part of her lens is exploring cultural norms, bodily pleasure and reproduction in a future ecology, as Switch imagines brutal future climates as a dominant erotic partner.
