Pablo Alboreda

Pablo Alboreda was trained as an architect in his home country, Spain, and he continued his career in Germany, where he obtained a Master’s degree and a PhD in heritage and urban studies respectively. Since April 2018, he is a Postdoctoral researcher funded by the Urban Studies Foundation at the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences (University of Glasgow). His main field of interest is modern ruins, involving critical discourses, aesthetic approaches, and communal practices of re-activation. Additionally, he is used to experiment with alternative research methods involving video, photo, and creative writing, and thus the boundaries between academic and artistic practices are certainly blurred. Friendly, approachable, and easy-going, he is up for any kind of cultural activity and interesting conversation, and happy to share a beer, an urban walk – or even both together – at any time.
