Lena Athanasopoulou

Lena Athanasopoulou is a visual artist (collage, video art), a director, a filmmaker, a writer and -occasionally- a performer. She studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art & Goldsmiths College, University of London. From 2010 until 2013 she taught as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Western Macedonia, Department of Visual & Applied Arts the classes of Art & Technology, New Media Art and Photography. Since 2014 she has been working on two documentaries for the Interreg Black sea - Winexports program. She has realized three solo exhibitions and has a permanent collaboration with Zina Athanassiadou Gallery in Thessaloniki. She participated in a number of group exhibitions in Greece and abroad (The Lux Centre in London, Martin Gropious Bau in Berlin, Museum Moderner Kunst in Vienna, Benaki Museum in Athens, State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki, Contemporary Art Centre of Thessaloniki, Skol in Montreal). Her work can be found in Museums and private collections.
