Conflating smart building control and abstract art installation, Projo positions itself as a robotic confusion decomposed into an urban space. Three latex and welding vinyl screens/membranes are actuated with pneumatics, sound, video in response to environmental inputs from its electronic sensory organ(s).
Video work projects onto and through Projo references the audience given secrets, subverting the dynamic of consensual privacy. A screen aesthetic of internet brain-rot delves into the manipulation of reality in a post truth era by projecting the internet noise into physical space.
Projo engages a contemporary discussion of AI in public and intimate spaces by incorporating a simple explainable AI model into an absurd robotic installation. The sensor module and hybrid ML control model references industry practices that use explainable AI for occupancy detection in smart building design. Critically, this methodology is both human in the loop and non-invasive to personal identity and privacy.
Projo will be developed at ZK/U.
