Va-Bene proposed an alternative means to investigate and curate processes, interactivity and public performances in relation indeginous and older traditions might have contributed to contemporary life-and-live-art.
sHit explored ‘Unfamiliar spirits’ through the lenses of traditional energies, rituals and methods employed by various artists as an integral part of their processes and presentations in performances that the audience may or may not be familiar with. On the other hand sHits familiar spaces referred to the regular communities, spaces and environments both artists and audience may have been used to or familiar with. Va-Bene's idea was to sync the knowns and unknowns into multiple imagintions within and without the context in which they would have been originally presented.
sHit aimed at investigating the intersectionality of African traditions and postcolonial influences on performance art in Berlin as a multicultural city.
