At ZK/U I plan to create a body of drawing-based work by observing aspects of social cohesion and ideas about utopic relationships, (focusing on the city’s sites of leisure and pleasure) comparing human and bonobo (Pan paniscus) behaviour. Considering our genetic connection to bonobos, I ask, what are the cultural, environmental, and historical influences on perspectives of morality when it comes to monogamy, and how/why we self-regulate and internalize social norms.
