FOOD AND FOOTAGE

Independent movies in combination with food
At Food&Footage, filmmakers and chefs come together every week to combine moving images with a three-course meal and thus bring current social, cultural and political topics to the table.
Moving images in the broadest sense - including documentaries, video art, experimental short films or performative forms - do not only serve as a narrative medium. Simultaneously and as an equally important storytelling element, additional semantic and performative levels of reception open up through the gestures of how we prepare and serve food, but also through the choice of tableware. Regardless of whether we refer to the film thematically, subtly or concretely - it is only in the exchange that a culinary-cinematic interplay emerges. The director becomes the chef, or the chef becomes the protagonist of the evening. Sometimes inspired by a takeaway, invasive delicacies or Caravaggio's Last Supper in Emmaus: food is understood as a limited resource.
The curated program is fed by the narratives of ZK/U.
The event is usually free of charge; purchasing a meal is not required to attend the event.
The price is 15 euros per person (drinks not included).
