Lee Tusman

Working computationally, Lee is building digital generative artworks with the creative coding library L5 that he initiated. Three new works were developed while in residency: I’m Bald – an autobiographical game poem; Studio Visit at ZK/U – a riff on studio visits complete with a ‘wacky waving arm’ of the viewer, controlled by the mouse, a reference to the underlying obtuseness of the physical material of the human-computer interface and the kinds of 'interaction' made legible by creative coding libraries; Easy Read / Hard Read –  dealing with the in/adequacy of language, featuring journal texts presented in three forms: an obfuscated ‘easy read’, an obscured original journal, and a morse code translation presented aurally as a ‘hard read.’

During his residency Lee worked on and presented sound art, media art and performance projects with collaborators at ZK/U, Offline, Creative Code Stammtisch, Trust, MotionLab and Echo Coordinate.
