The Interdependence of Things: A Reverse Fertilization between Sahara and Amazonia - Ziad Naitaddi

Birds Airlines, 2026-ongoing

Ziad Naitaddi ( Morocco )

The function of the dust of the Sahara in Europe is the opposite of that which it has in the Amazon; in Europe, Saharan dust spreads over the skies of Scandinavian countries, Central and Western Europe, and as many experts predict, it poses a risk to human health and can be considered a sterile and unfavorable shipment. Even if this may be biologically accurate, when it comes to a phenomenon that has opposite consequences on the other side of the Atlantic, we are reminded of the various socio-political and racial statements and prevention measures concerning migration and human movements, especially those of individuals originating from the Global South via the political right-wing discourses mostly disseminated in Europe.
