Jocelyn Robert

Jocelyn Robert has been working for a while by overlaying different structures one over the other in order to reveal underlying forms. He did this in sound works, in photography in video and in other media. He recently began a reflexion on some paradigms that have been put in place from the 15th century and on and that are still current: the perspective as presented by Alberti in De Pictura, Gutenberg's organization of the printed page, the metric system proposed as universal, etc. With the erosion of the value of the printed text that we see unfolding, along with that of the expert's point of view, with a critical look at how these paradigms were used in a context of colonization, he wants to reflect on the mechanisms to see what kind of new structure can emerge and how it can inform his work.
